Wild Hat Boxes
Brief
Wild Hats needed packaging that could match the personality of their headwear. The boxes had to protect structured hats while feeling like an object worth keeping.
Direction
The direction leaned into the brand's unusual character. Deep tones, tactile materials, and a form that opened like a keepsake rather than a shipping container.
System
A modular box system was developed to accommodate multiple hat silhouettes within a single outer form, reducing SKU complexity while maintaining a premium unboxing experience.
Development
Prototypes were iterated across three rounds, refining the interior cradle, closure mechanism, and exterior print finish before finalizing tooling.
Final Result
The final box shipped with a textured exterior, a magnetic closure, and an interior cradle that held the hat shape without crushing the brim. The packaging became part of the product experience.

Our approach
Ace Designs is a founder-led design firm focused on packaging and product design. We work with large businesses and individuals to turn ideas into considered, memorable products and packaging. Our approach is personal and hands-on. You work directly with Ace, the founder, to define what the project needs, whether that's a packaging concept, a product design, a sample or prototype, or support taking an idea further. Ace's design experience spans golf products, packaging, apparel, accessories, and costumes. That range informs a point of view drawn to the unusual and the details that make something feel worth keeping.
